Atelophobia
fear of imperfection
My practice typically practices photography and the message portraits suggest. Much like my previous works, Atelophobia, is a study on general topics on valnurability I find relatable. Included in the installation is a fragile unbound zine, possessing writings and poetry as well as images of friends close to my heart. I create an idea of rooms to separate insecurities that consume the mind. I chose to highlight preservation techniques using beeswax, which creates somewhat of an ecosystem within the work. Much like the ecosystem of societal standards media latches to at an early age. The organic form is meant to portray something in the likes of a wasp nest, swarming the wall as new ideas of insecurities swarm in my mind.
